Finally giving us some good music to listen to once again, R&B girl group Xscape is now putting together their biopic, which will be executive produced by the infamous Mona Scott-Young.

The group’s long-awaited reunion has their 90’s fans super geeked and we were all able to witness the excitement during their recent kickoff in Detroit, which was absolutely amazing, with the women bringing their husbands on stage for the show.

The humble ’90s R&B icons had a sit-down with Rolling Out publication, where they’d spoke with them backstage after their first performance in Detroit. They shared how it feels to be kickin’ it onstage together after almost 20 years of being apart. “Girl, oh my goodness, it feels good, to get all the love from everybody. Everywhere we’ve gone, everybody’s like, ‘oh my God, you guys are back together,’ ” said LaTocha. “To be onstage with them and being able to continue to use these gifts that God has given us, is amazing — it was fun!” Everyone agreed that the beautiful and unexpected moment between Kandi and Tamika Scott was what seemed to touch them all.

The ladies also spoke about who they’d wanted to play them in the upcoming biopic film that they have planned for their fans.

“Naturi [Naughton],” said Latocha.

“I came up  with that, thank you,” said Tiny.

While both Tiny and Tamika want their daughters to play them, Kandi is still deciding. “I change my mind every day. One day I said, Keke Palmer; one day I said, Teyana Taylor; one day I said, you know that brown-skinned girl on that show ‘Star’?”

“She would be perfect, and she can sing,” added LaTocha.

The Xscape biopic is one that we all need and are patiently waiting for, however, whenever the ladies are ready to drop a new album, we’ll be happy with that too!
