A Gwinnett County police officer has now been fired after he was caught on camera stomping a handcuffed man in the head while he lay facedown on a Georgia street.

Just this past Wednesday at around 4 pm, Master Police Officer Robert McDonald responded to the call of a traffic stop at an intersection.

Cellphone video of the incident showed the driver, Demetrius Hollins, being pulled out of his vehicle and stomped by McDonald as he’d arrived to the scene. McDonald was fired the next day.

Later on that same day new video emerged of Sgt. MF Bongiovanni punching Hollins, only before McDonald arrived, even though Hollins visibly had his hands in the air.

The first video to come forward, called “very disturbing” by a police spokesperson, was taken by another driver in traffic.

“What I viewed last night was disturbing to me and disturbing to others,” Gwinnett County Police Chief Butch Ayers said at a Thursday afternoon news conference. “What happened last night involving the officer last night was embarrassing to the Gwinnett County Police and other law enforcement.”

“The revelations uncovered in this entire investigation are shocking,” read a publicized police statement.
