Dorothy Counts, as we all may remember, was one of the first African American students to be admitted into Harry Harding High School during the Civil Rights movement in Charlotte, North Carolina.

After several days of unnecessary harassment, which threatened her safety, Counts’ parents made the decision to have her removed from the school.
