Third Mistrial Declared In Ex-Cops Fatal Shooting of Daughter’s Black Boyfriend

In 2017, race-fueled hate crimes surrounding dating are still among many topics of discussion. Unfortunately, a white father, who was also a Tulsa, Oklahoma police officer, has just undergone his third mistrial for shooting and killing his daughter’s black boyfriend in 2014.

The jury was comprised of both six men and women, chosen June 29, 2017 after a few days of questioning; including issues like the O.J. Simpson trial and their own values and beliefs surrounding self-defense. Interestingly enough, on Friday morning June 30, 2017, that chosen jury came with another deadlocked conclusion which allowed Shannon Kepler, 57, to again walk freely.
