Suprise! Serena Williams Shows Off Beautiful Baby Bump

Famous tennis player Serena Williams is now carrying a legacy of her own, confirmed just Wednesday, the iconic athlete made the announcement that she is 20 weeks pregnant with her first child and should be expecting the babies arrival later on this year.

Williams, 35, hasn’t played in a match since winning her 23rd Grand Slam single title at the Australian Open back in January of this year, when she was already allegedly two months pregnant.

Williams will be 36 in September of this year, however, her spokeswoman Kelly Bush Novak says that while she will probably miss the rest of the 2017 season, she is intended on returning back to the sport in 2018.

“Serena said that I should make sure if anyone asks that that is clear,” Bush Novak said in a telephone interview on Wednesday.

This announcement was Williams’ most recent surprise, after she’d first unexpectedly announced her engagement to Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, back in December 0f 2016.

“I’m elated for her; I’ve seen her with our son, and she will be a great mother,” said Andy Roddick, a former men’s world No. 1 who is a good friend of Williams and has known her since childhood.

Chris Evert, the former No. 1, said she communicated with Williams via text on Wednesday. “Getting married and having a child is a special journey,” Evert said. “She, to me, is more than ready for this lifestyle change. It’s been 20 years on tour.”

Williams has won 10 out of 23 major singles since hitting 30 and is now the oldest woman to hold the No. 1 title in the WTA rankings.

“I think if Serena wants to come back after having a baby, I think she’s proven at this point that age is not a big factor for her,” said Pam Shriver, an analyst and a former leading player. “She may even feel she can take a little lesson from Roger Federer. I know it’s for different reasons, but look how he’s come back at age 35. I don’t think it really matters if you’re 35 or 37 or 38. You’re part of that same age group, and once you’ve gotten over that mental hump of competing at this higher level in your 30s, which she obviously has, it is certainly possible.”

We are so happy for Williams, as well as her fiancé, and wish her nothing but the best in her latest venture into becoming a mother and wife.

So, what are your thoughts on this news? Are you happy for her or what?
