Could there be a return of Prince Akeem?

Actor and comedian Eddie Murphy hinted at a possible “Coming to America” sequel in a tweet that has since been deleted, according to several online media reports.

The star of the classic film from 1988 allegedly took to his Twitter account this past Thursday to post an image of Vanessa Bell Calloway from the film, along with the caption: “Coming to America sequel?”

Social media went absolutely crazy with the thought that there could possibly be a remake of the film after nearly 30 years of classic actors, comedy and characters that we will always remember. Though others still feel that a follow-up is completely necessary, there are also claims that Murphy is allegedly in the early writing stages of the possible sequel.

There has also been no word on exactly whether or not the original cast of icons, such as Murphy, James Earl Jones and Calloway, would be able to make a return since the plot has yet to be finalized.

However, a source claims that Murphy doesn’t send out his own tweets, he has a social media team that does that for him.

The questionable announcement was supposed to be revealed at a much later date, once more details were available to the public, TMZ reported.

Reps for Murphy still have yet to respond, however, if this news is true then we are so excited! Comment your thoughts below and tell us what you think.
