Many of us go through dating experiences that leave us disappointed or challenged. But rarely does that disappointment lead us to feel that one race might be superior to another. That’s the interpretation some are having for an open letter written by film star Regina King. King’s open letter to black women has drawn reactions and outrage from quite a few women who feel that she was over the top in her recommendation that black women date outside their race. Has such a letter ever been publicly written for Asians, Jews or anyone else? It’s one thing to say that it’s OK to date outside your race, and another to recommend interracial dating as the solution to a serious problem.

In this video, Nomalanga Mhlauli-Moses and Shaquita Graham give a breakdown and analyze the odd recommendations of Regina King. Tell us what you think.
