Brian Studdard’s father recently turned 99-years-old this week and on Saturday he chose to drive to Birmingham, Alabama to celebrate the birthday of his dad with family and close friends.

However, once Studdard arrived to the restaurant it was nothing short of a spoiler. The man claims that a hostess explained to him that there was an issue with his choice of attire.

“One of the hostesses came to me and said some of the line servers thought my t-shirt was inappropriate or offensive,” Studdard explained.

His bright pink shirt bear a simple illustration of female breasts and said “Breast Matters” in large printed lettering. Studdard says that he’d gotten the t-shirt after participating in a 5-mile walk in Atlanta, Ga. to support one of his friends that is currently battling Breast Cancer.

A website maintained by James B-More Wharton, an author in Baltimore, offers the shirt for sale for $10.99.

“One of my best friends died a few months ago from breast cancer, one of my sisters is a breast cancer survivor, so it means a lot,” he said.

Though the owner of the restaurant has since declined to comment on the situation, there are allegedly signs displayed around the eatery that request all paying customers were “modest attire.”

However, Studdard and his family defended the shirt, with him saying, “In my opinion, for someone who finds this shirt inappropriate is truly uninformed.”

It was later revealed that the owner offered a different shirt for Studdard to wear during the time that he’d sat in the restaurant, so that he could stay there with his family. However, Studdard declined, explaining that he didn’t feel comfortable wearing someone else’s clothing.

Instead, he’d requested to wear his shirt inside out and the owner was, apparently, unsatisfied. He asked Studdard to leave and the police were eventually called.

Authorities responded to the call and said that if Studdard ever came back to the restaurant he would be taken into police custody. All over a t-shirt though?
