Mary J. Blige is finally opening up about what could have possibly led to her publicly emotional divorce from husband of 12 years, Kendu Isaacs.

Spekaing with Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez, the famous singer shared that there was an alarming amout of “overwhelming disrespect” on the part of Isaacs that ultimately led to her questioning their love for one another.

“I can sense that I’m not what you want anymore,” said Blige, also adding that her husband would ask questions about why she never cooked and wouldn’t wear her hair a certain way.

“You start to realize that this man doesn’t want you and he’s just gone all the time and you’re by yourself in the relationship,” said Blige. “When you realize you’re by yourself and you’re just suffering through it, now it’s time to do some investigating.”

When radio personality Martinez asked Blige what exactly she’d meant by that, she responded that she would begin hearing rumors about her husband and his whereabouts, until one day the truth finally came out.

“When I got the full proof, I didn’t have to investigate it,” the singer, 46, said. “It just showed up.”

Back in July of 2016, Blige cited irreconcilable differences to be the reason why they could no longer be together. She’d also put in a request to the courts that her soon-to-be ex-husband not receive any spousal support in their breakup.

Whle they had no children together, Blige has been a proud step mother to Isaac’s three children, Briana, Jordan and Nas, which all came from previous relationships.

They’d first gotten married back in 2003.

“My marriage is not on the rocks, but I would be a liar and my fans would hate me if I said to them, ‘Oh, we’re perfect and everything is great,’” she told Wendy Williams on her show in 2012. “We have situations just like everyone else. We’re not out in public trying to kill each other, but it’s real. We love each other.”

In the months since the split, Blige released a “personal” single, “Thick of It.”

“It’s almost painful to let it out,” Blige said of the track in a press release. “I don’t hold back though. It’s not who I am and there’s no way I am going to start changing now.”

So, what are your thoughts on what Blige had to say? Do you feel where she’s coming from or are you indifferent in the situation?
