One of the most severe cases of child abuse has been reported this year and took place in Marion, Indiana. According to news outlets, a 34-year-old man has allegedly impregnated his girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter.

It first began when Nicholas Thrash started dating the victim’s mother, 32, only two years ago. At some point during their relationship, Thrash began a physical relationship with his girlfriend’s daughter and the 10-year-old eventually became pregnant after enduring months of physical abuse.

The moment authorities discovered that the young girl was pregnant by Thrash, they’d arrested her mother and charged her with two counts of felony neglect on May 16th of 2017. The mother also has a son.

Once she was arrested, Thrash evaded the police and was eventually caught on May 17th, the next day.

This case reveals exactly why it’s so important for all adults to check for the warning signs of any possible abuse that could be going on in their homes.

According to Stop It Now, signs could include a sudden change in eating habit; mood swings of rage, fear, insecurity; developing new or unusual fear of certain people or places; and exhibiting adult-like sexual behaviors, language and knowledge.

If a child shows that they may take part in any of those signs, it’s important to create a safe and easy way for them to contact authorities who can investigate the situation if anything is happening to the child while at home.

The victim’s mother is still in jail and being held on a $100,000 bond. Thrash is also being held with 10 counts of child abuse and a whopping $500,000 cash only bond.

So, what are your thoughts on this news?

Our prayers go out to the baby girl, as well as her family.
