The manhunt is officially on after a Facebook video was posted by Steve Stephens of himself killing an innocent man and then blaming his actions on his mother and ex-girlfriend, Joy Lane.

Lane is allegedly said to be Stephens’ ex-girlfriend of three years.

In regards to the horrific killing spree that took place on Easter Sunday, she has finally chosen to speak out via text with CBS News.

She said:

“We had been in a relationship for several years. I am sorry that all of this has happened. My heart & prayers goes out to the family members of the victim(s). Steve really is a nice guy… he is generous with everyone he knows. He was kind and loving to me and my children. This is a very difficult time for me and my family Please respect our privacy at this time.”

Cleveland authorities claim that Stephens shot and killed Robert Godwin, Sr., his 74-year-old victim that was chosen at random. In one of his video clips, Stephens was shown approaching the man on the street and making the victim say Lane’s name, right before choosing to fatally shoot him to death.

During a separate video, Stephens said, “She’s the reason why I’m making this video. She is the reason for what’s about to happen today.”

Description of Stephens

  • He is described as a black man
  • 6 foot 1, 244 pounds
  • Bald with a full beard
  • Wearing a dark blue and grey or black striped polo shirt
  • White or cream-colored Ford Fusion.

We are hopeful that they do find Stephens so that the people of Cleveland, as well as every other city, can finally live peacefully.

Comment your thoughts, prayers and well-wishes to the familyies of the fallen victims.
