Henry Brown created the first lock boxes

Henry Brown patented a receptacle for storing and preserving papers.  He did it out of a need to store money, valuables and important papers. Once made of wood, Brown created a safer container that was made of metal which was sealed with a lock and key. His invention is what is now known as the strong box or lock boxes.
