FUBU CEO & ‘Shark Tank’ Star Reveals Cancer Diagnoses

“Shark Tank” star Daymond John says the “blessed” tattoo on his chest takes on a whole other meaning these days.

John, 48, whom many of us know as the founder of FUBU (For Us By Us) fashion clothing line that was a major 1990’s phenomenon and now a major rage in parts of Asia, is a father of three girls, however, he now has a new reason to feel blessed; after recently fighting off cancer.

The famous reality television investor spoke on ‘Good Morning America’ just this past Wednesday about his experiences when being diagnosed with stage two thyroid cancer after receiving an annual routine physical, which revealed that there was a nodule on his thyroid.

“They said you can take it out if you want, you can leave it in,” he told Robin Roberts, who endured her own battle with breast cancer in 2007. “I didn’t skip a beat. When I got some early detections, I understood that I had a challenge and if I would attack it now, then I wouldn’t let it attack me.”

John described his thyroid as a “very slow-growing cancer,” and he still currently has half left to help him fight just in case the cancer decides to return.

“I’m good, and I want to share this with people because that’s what success is,” he said. “It’s staying in your family’s lives, it’s being around. I want to be there for (my daughters) to keep yelling at me and ignoring me.”

John also urged for viewers of the show to take control of their health and fate, and go get mammograms, colonoscopies and pap smears, which are all procedures that dedicate themselves to catching any potential cancer that could be stopped in the early stages.

“There’s a saying — a man with his health has a thousand dreams. A man without his health only has one,” he said.

We are so happy for the famous CEO and wish him nothing but the best in his health.
