Former NFL star and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez was recently found hanged in his Massachusetts jail cell early this Wednesday morning, according to prison officials, only days after he was acquitted for a separate murder case.

The 27-year-old former New England Patriots player hung himself with his bed sheet attached to a window. The body of the father-of-one was discovered at 3:05 am.

“Lifesaving techniques were attempted on Mr. Hernandez, and he was transported to UMass Leominster, where he was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m.,” the correction department’s statement reads.
Aaron Hernandez, seen here in court in 2013, was convicted in 2015 in the killing of Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez was currently serving life in prison after he’d been convicted of first-degree murder for the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancée.
And up until last week, he’d also been facing murder charges in the July 2012 deaths of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abeu, two men that were killed in a drive-by shooting outside of a Boston nightclub.
It’s always sad to hear about someone’s passing, however, many seem to have mixed feelings about this one. How do you feel?
