Motown is a record company started by Berry Gordy, Jr. in Detroit Michigan. It was formed and incorporated between 1959 and 1960.
It gave birth to some of the musical geniuses we know today such as Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, The Supremes, The Temptations…… the list goes on and on.
Motown Records first international hit was “Baby Love” by the Supremes.
This brief documentary talks about how Motown Records went from a small label in Detroit, MI, to a internationally known and well-recognized label.
