Jeronimo Yanez, the cop who killed Philando Castile, has left the St. Anthony Police Department. Instead of firing the officer, the city of St. Anthony, Minnesota reached a voluntary separation agreement. This agreement ensures that Yanez can not sue the city, in return he will receive $48,500.

According to Newsone.com, the city said it made the agreement to “to serve the public interest and quickly assure the public that Officer Yanez will not continue as a St. Anthony police officer.”A reasonable voluntary separation agreement brings to a close one part of this horrible tragedy,” the statement continued.
