Black People Need To Dump Steve Harvey & Here’s Why

Once beloved comedian Steve Harvey just can’t stop embarrassing himself in the name of current POTUS Donald Trump and at this point, black people have completely given up on him, his books, his movies and so much more.

It’s not just that black people have chosen to trade him in, it’s simply about the fact that Mr. Harvey recently took to his radio show just this past Friday morning to blast rapper Snoop Dogg for his ‘Lavender’ music video, which showed a parody of Donald Trump with his hands in the air.

In the video, Snoop pointed a toy gun full of confetti at the fake Trump and it seems to have people talking.

Here is what Trump had to say about the incident:
“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired a gun at President Obama? Jail time!”

It wasn’t only that Harvey seemed to have taken offense to the video that showed the parody version of his favorite president, it was that he came for black America because of it.

“The problem with all this [criticism of Trump] is, is that there is an office in this country called the ‘president,’ and you have to respect the office,” Harvey said. “You really do. Whether you want to or not. You have to respect the office. They got laws.”

The Root writer Michael Arceneaux made it plain in his own piece, “We Owe Donald Trump as Much Respect as He Gave Us During His Run for President,” where he writes:

My black ass doesn’t owe Trump a damn thing. The same goes for anyone else in this country who is not white, straight and male—or, you know, a white woman who supported Trump and cares far more about preserving the privileges of being white than about any of her autonomy being stripped because of gender. Like many pundits who have been wrong this entire time, [New York Times columnist Nicholas] Kristof cites Trump’s lack of knowledge and experience as reasons to question the sincerity and likelihood of his building that wall he speaks of, bringing law and order to the nation (its blacks), and fulfilling other campaign promises that pleasured white nationalists in their most private places.

Trump has no ideology, but he campaigned on bigotry and has a strong record on it. Trump also has the support of Republicans in Congress, who are very much aware that their newfound control of every branch of government has a lot to do with his success. Paul Ryan has already confirmed that. They owe Trump, and he knows it.

So, with that being said, we don’t owe Trump an apology or anything else, however, Harvey can continue to sing his praises. It will just be interesting to see where and how he ends up, being that he is so caught up on trying to keep this man happy.
