Bessie Blount invented a device that allowed amputees to feed themselves

Elizabeth Blount also known as Bessie Blount Griffin  was born  on November 24, 1914 in Hickory, Virginia.

Bessie worked as a nurse and physical therapist during World War II. It is here where she got the idea to invent an electronic feeding device that allowed amputees to feed themselves.
