Before Misty Copeland there was Janet Collins

Janet Collins was a ballet dancer, choreographer, and teacher.

She was also the first Black woman to appear and perform in a regular Metropolitan Opera in New York State.

In this brief clip, we learn more about Ms. Collins who definitely paved the way for all future generations of African American artists and dancers.
