Alfred L. Cralle’s invention will never go out of style.  He created the ice cream scoop in 1897.

While working as a porter in Pittsburgh, PA, Cralle noticed that the ice cream he was serving kept sticking to the spoons and ladels he was using—and he needed two hands in order to serve the sweet dessert. So he created a device that kept the ice cream from sticking and was easy to operate with one hand.
